Comment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on November foreign trade results

"The solid performance of foreign trade in November reflected positive signals that came from leading indicators. Maintaining exports and imports at historically extremely high levels and several consecutive month-long trend of year on year growth is a key factor. Though the pace of growth in Euro terms with regard to the depreciation of the Czech crown was significantly lower than in the national currency, it can be assumed that even in the case of the single currency, the Euro results exceed the full-year exports in 2012. Primarily ongoing recovery of the German economy and a number of other European economies took part in November results. As regards countries outside the EU, the long-term growth performance of Czech exporters to the Chinese market is very satisfactory. The automotive industry remains the main driver of the export growth, although many other industries do not stay away. Given the values of new orders from abroad, which suggests multi-year highs, positive foreign trade results can be expected also in coming months," said the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Milan Hovorka, who is in charge of the department of foreign trade.
