Comment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the foreign trade results achieved in November.

"Notwithstanding that the Czech exports and imports have increasingly been reflecting a dwindling foreign as well as domestic demand, the November foreign trade figures rather belong to the category of more positive economic reports, the year 2012 brought. A year on year comparison of the performance on both sides of the trade balance is even more interesting, when taking into consideration the high comparison base of the November last year. The outlook for the next period, however, does not give too many reasons for optimism. Especially the development in Europe seems to be a highly uncertain. While the timing advance indicators for the Eurozone and Germany show some improvement, yet they remain in overall deep in the contraction zone. Noticeable is the lower economic performance in countries outside Europe, during which time we are particularly interested in markets, which are increasingly targeted by Czech exporters. Anyway, we can already say with certainty that the overall Czech exports in 2012 exceed the threshold of three billion crowns," said the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr Milan Hovorka, who is responsible for the foreign trade section.
