On January 18, 2017 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Austrian Republic, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the International Organizations in Vienna, Alena Kupchyna, presented Credentials to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukia Amano.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between Belarus and the IAEA including in the context of ongoing realization of Belarusian NPP construction project. Permanent Representative of Belarus expressed her gratitude to the Agency and its' Director General for attentive attitude to the specific needs of nuclear-energy newcomers. A.Kupchyna confirmed interest of Belarus in further cooperation with the IAEA on safeguards implementation, nuclear safety and security, peaceful use of nuclear energy and technical cooperation.
