Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Deve : Mali – Terrorist attack (18.01.17)

France utterly condemns the car bomb attack carried out this morning against an army camp in Gao.

We extend our condolences to the victims' families as well as to the Malian authorities.

This attack is clearly aimed at thwarting the efforts to promote stability and the security of the populations and to undermine the trust between the signatories of the Algiers agreement.

France is determined to combat all those who are trying to hinder the restoration of peace in Mali. It calls on the parties to uphold their commitment to the peace process.
