Jakarta, 11/01/2016 MoF - The government commits to establish inter-regional connectivity in order to realized nine missions (nawacita). This is depicted in the increasing allocation of infrastructure expenditure each year.

'Many regions are not connected, and it requires enormous investment,' said the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati in the National Working Meeting of Ministry of Finance at Mezzanine Hall, on Tuesday (10/01).

According to her, government must improve fiscal management by government revenue management, government expenditure management that is productive and sound, as well as financing management that is prudent. In addition, connectivity development is not only financed by the government, yet it should be able to assist and become pioneer in all regions.

'It is not merely done by the state. However, the state must be there and be a pioneer,' the minister affirmed.

The minister further explains that 2017 State Budget is designed to be fiscal instrument that stimulates growth, reduces unemployment, poverty as well as social disparities.

Towards a Solutional Bureaucracy

Meanwhile, the minister added, beside State Budget, Ministry of Finance has bureaucratic issues. The MoF's bureaucracy is expected to be able to support economic driving machine.

'We want to be an institutional bureaucracy that continues providing solution,' said the minister. (ab/rsa)
