Jakarta, 19/01/2016 MoF - Statistics Indonesia recorded an increase of 6.98 percent or USD11.89 billion of Indonesia's export in December 2015 compared to the November export. The figure is supported by non-oil export that increased by 10.21 percent or USD10.59 billion compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, oil and gas export declined by 13.20 percent or USD1.29 billion.

The highest increase of non-oil export occurred in ore, crust, and metal ash by USD378.8 million or 366.61 percent, while the highest decrease happened in iron and steel items in amount of USD43.0 million or 28.98 percent.

Based on destination country, non-oil export of USD1.32 billion to the United States was the largest export, followed by China at USD1.23 billion and Japan at USD1.18 billion. They have contributed as much as 35.27 percent. Meanwhile, export to 27 EU countries reached USD1.23 billion. Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's export from January to December 2015 reached USD150.25 billion or down by 14.62 percent over the same period in 2014.

According to data of the Ministry of Trade, 2015 trade balance had a surplus of up to USD 7.5 billion, meaning that it was the highest record after 2011. The surplus is supported by the trade balance with Japan, South Korea and Thailand. (as)
