Jakarta, 19/01/2017 MoF - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati delivered public lecture at the 47th Anniversary of Media Indonesia in Metro TV Studio on Thursday (01/19). She explained about Indonesia Economic Outlook in 2017.

She stated that within a decade, Indonesia's economic growth has performed a stable resistance amid the global turmoil and is being an asset. However, according to her, despite the high economic growth, regional gap within Indonesia is still occurred. 'Thus we design policies that respond the economic diagnosis and the way to handle it,' said the minister.

Finance Minister mentioned that challenges to the policy makers to create a just and prosperous society, among others are to alleviate poverty, reduce inequality, improve productivity, enhance competitiveness, good governance as well as clean and effective institutions, to create inclusive and quality growth.

'The inequality is rising as the financial sector sustains double-digit growth, while the real sector, services is struggling. This should be wary for the policy maker. Indonesia should see this as a challenge to government policy,' she explained

To close her lecture, the minister also wished Media Indonesia a happy birthday and hoped it will remain to be a media to educate people of Indonesia. (irf/ nr)
