WASHINGTON, DC-Today, U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) released the following statement on the President signing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement Implementation Act (USMCA) into law.

'Last month, I was proud to vote in support of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement Implementation Act (USMCA) and am pleased that the President signed this bipartisan trade agreement into law today. Farmers and workers in Central New York have been negatively impacted by unfair trade agreements in the past and I made a commitment to work in Congress to urge a bipartisan trade deal that promotes investment in Central New York and strengthens protections for working families in our region.'

'With this agreement now law, Central New York's economy and agriculture industry are well-positioned to expand and grow. The USMCA addresses trade obstacles that have plagued dairy farmers in our region and will allow American farmers and manufactures to benefit from improved market access to foreign markets. Coupled with recent pro-growth policies passed at the federal level, including tax reform, I firmly believe our local economy will continue to grow and flourish.'
