Lynx Technology, today announced the general availability of Lynx MiND™. Lynx MiND is an Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) certified smart home solution, which utilizes a small footprint implementation of the IoTivity framework, IoTivity-Constrained, and is ideally suited for smaller, resource-constrained devices. Lynx MiND, which includes a rules engine, will enable a gateway, NAS, wireless router, STB, home controller or other device to be transformed into a smart home hub. Lynx MiND will be demonstrated at CES in Las Vegas this week in the OCF booth kitchen demo in Sands Expo Center, Booth #42914.

Lynx MiND is certified on OCF 1.3, which is the latest version of the OCF standard, and utilizes the IoTivity-Constrained implementation, which provides OCF compliance for resource-constrained devices and small operating systems, and can be quickly customized to any platform. Lynx MiND with IoTivity-Constrained, is ideally suited for devices with low RAM and flash capacity, and low power CPUs with low clock cycles.

Once embedded with the Lynx MiND Engine, a gateway, NAS, wireless router, STB, home controller or other device will function as a smart home hub that will interoperate with other OCF Certified devices (e.g. thermostats, lights, locks, cameras), and has the capability to provide a bridge to devices on other smart home ecosystems (e.g. Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread).

The Lynx MiND Engine is designed with memory optimization and CPU efficiency in mind, resulting in a small daemon footprint that delivers sub-second round trip response time when communicating with devices. Lynx MiND also has a fully user definable and editable rules engine designed to be embedded in resource-constrained devices.

Lynx MiND delivers critical smart home hub functions such as: device interoperability, device discovery, device control, scene creation, event-driven rules and remote access. Through Lynx MiND, Device Manufacturer and Service Provider end users can easily create automated scenes such as Wake Up, Go To Bed, Leaving Home and Coming Home.
