The new MDs are a key part of Lincoln’s continued global growth and deepening product and sector coverage across key industries. These professionals, based in five different countries, work with clients across an array of advisory service lines with nine delivering mergers and acquisitions advisory (M&A) with clear areas of sector and/or geographic coverage, one in capital advisory and one offering valuations and opinions advisory services.

Several of the new Managing Directors have risen through the ranks having started their careers with Lincoln, while others were attracted from competitor firms because of the quality of Lincoln’s people, platform and culture. The new Managing Directors are Smitha Balasubramanian, Cynthya Goulet, Chris Gresh, Adam Hunia, Phillip Knotts, Christoph-Sebastian Meier, Sibert Meulenbelt, Sathya Ramanathan, Alex Ring, Xenia Sarri and Charles Walder.

Smitha Balasubramanian | Chicago, Illinois

Smitha provides valuation opinions and advisory services to public and private companies and investment advisors and focuses on new technology initiatives to advance the firm’s Valuations & Opinions Group. Prior to joining Lincoln as an Associate in 2011, Smitha worked with Macquarie Group, where she provided M&A advisory services and equity research.

Cynthya Goulet | Chicago, Illinois

Cynthya provides M&A advisory services for clients within precision medicine with a focus on diagnostic and research products and medical device outsourcing. Cynthya has spent her entire career at Lincoln since joining in 2007.

Chris Gresh | New York, New York

Chris is a senior member of Lincoln’s Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) Group providing M&A and capital raising advisory services for a wide variety of technology clients across an assortment of sub-sectors, with keen expertise in enterprise software and in the sub-verticals of human capital, governance and compliance. Prior to joining Lincoln in 2011 as an Associate, Chris focused on M&A advisory across various industries with Lazard.

Adam Hunia | Chicago, Illinois

Adam provides M&A advisory services for clients in the automation, material handling and chemicals and materials sectors. Prior to joining Lincoln in 2010 as an Associate, Adam worked in the Debt Capital Markets group at The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Phillip Knotts | Chicago, Illinois

Phillip specializes in providing M&A advisory services to healthcare services companies, with a focus on physician practice management, dental services and home and community-based providers. Prior to joining Lincoln as a Vice President in 2012, Phillip was a Vice President in the healthcare investment banking practice at BB&T Capital Markets.

Christoph-Sebastian Meier | Zurich, Switzerland

Christoph-Sebastian advises corporate and private equity clients on domestic and cross-border M&A and has gained significant experience and client relationships in the Swiss technology community. Prior to joining Lincoln as an Associate in 2015, Christoph-Sebastian worked for Leonardo & Co. and Sal. Oppenheim Corporate Finance.

Sibert Meulenbelt | Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Sibert provides M&A advisory services with a focus on companies in the industrial sector and has gained significant experience in advising private equity, corporate and private clients in cross-border transactions. Prior to joining Lincoln as an Associate in 2014, Sibert worked in the corporate finance teams of Bank Oyens & Van Eeghen and Stamford Partners.

Sathya Ramanathan | Bangalore, India

Sathya leverages more than 15 years of corporate finance and M&A advisory experience to lead the firm’s technology, media & telecom efforts in India. Prior to joining Lincoln in 2019 as Director, Sathya worked at EY in its investment banking group, holding several roles over his 12+ years with the company, most recently leading the technology investment banking team in South India.

Alex Ring | Chicago, Illinois

Alex specializes in providing M&A advisory to financial services companies and has a rich understanding for the dynamics driving opportunity in the business services market. Alex has spent his entire professional career with Lincoln, joining as an Analyst in 2007.

Xenia Sarri | London, UK

Xenia is a debt specialist with more than 14 years’ experience in the London, Amsterdam and New York debt capital markets, advising on leveraged financings, cross-border transactions, special situations, acquisition finance and restructuring matters. Xenia joined Lincoln as a Director in 2018 after working in the Debt Structuring & Origination team at Jefferies and the TMT Structured Finance team at ING.

Charles Walder | Los Angeles, California

Charles has extensive experience advising companies in the consumer sector for clients focused on the restaurant and pet industries, including experience with domestic and cross-border M&A, capital raising, restructuring and other strategic advisory assignments. Prior to joining Lincoln as an Associate in 2013, Charles worked for Duff & Phelps in London where he focused on mid-market M&A and restructuring transactions.
