STOCKHOLM--Investor AB on Friday reported a total shareholder return of 16% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with 21% for the same period the previous year.

The company posted a negative total shareholder return for the year of 15% versus a positive return of 55% in 2021.

Investor's net asset value per share fell to 197 Swedish kronor ($19.09) at the end of December from SEK223. On an adjusted basis, NAV per share stood at SEK220, while net profit attributable to shareholders fell to SEK51.53 billion in the fourth quarter from SEK81.1 billion a year earlier.

"Much of what defined 2022 will undoubtedly also define 2023," Chief Executive Johan Forssell said.

"While uncertainty is high, Investor and our companies are well prepared to handle the challenges and capture the opportunities that lie ahead," he said.

The company proposed a full-year dividend of SEK4.40 for 2022 compared with SEK4.00 the previous year.

Investor is the investment vehicle of Sweden's prominent Wallenberg family and owns stakes in some of the country's largest companies, including telecom giant Ericsson AB, home appliance manufacturer Electrolux AB and lender Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB.
