PEKIN, Ill., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) has announced the appointment of Kevin Wandler, MD, CEDS, F.iaedp, to President of the iaedp Board of Directors. Dr. Wandler, an iaedp member for over 15 years, will assume the leadership from immediate past president, Buck Runyan, MS, MFT, LPC, CEDS, F.iaedp, who held the position during the 2013 - 2014 period. Runyan will continue service on the Board of Directors, taking on the new role of Immediate Past President.

"I am happy to begin leading an association that is first and foremost a wealth of training, information, friends, colleagues, and mentors," said Dr. Wandler, "but at the same time, opens up the possibilities for new relationships and continued growth in the field of eating disorders." Dr. Wandler will attend the 2015 iaedp Symposium, which will take place on March 19 - 22 at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix.

"The iaedp Foundation has grown and flourished during the last two years," noted former president Runyan. "The organization now has more than 29 chapters, and we have only scratched the surface in our membership growth and organization development."

Dr. Wandler has served as iaedp's President Elect for the past 12 months and has been a member of the iaedp Board of Directors and the Certification Committee. He is currently the Board Liaison in developing a new certification for physicians.
