FORT WAYNE, IN - Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) employees pledged to donate over $285,000 to United Ways throughout Indiana and Michigan in 2017. I&M provides a 50 percent match on all employee contributions to the United Way, bringing the total gift to $427,897.44.

In addition to monetary giving, many employees help the United Way by participating in volunteer activities such as raking leaves at the homes of senior citizens and cleaning up local parks as part of the organization's Day of Caring and Day of Action events.

'I&M is grateful to the United Way for their dedication and commitment to helping our communities thrive,' said Toby Thomas, I&M President and Chief Operating Officer. 'Our employees take pride in volunteering for the United Way and are pleased to help this wonderful organization achieve its goals in 2017.'

From prenatal care to kindergarten readiness, the United Way is instrumental in ensuring local children enter school ready to learn. In addition, the organization reduces homelessness, helps individuals gain skills to find steady work and connects residents with vital services to make certain basic needs are met.
