The building permits indicators measure the quarterly evolution in the number of dwellings used for residential purposes, square metres of residential useful floor area and square metres of non-residential area using the Classification of types of Construction (CC).

During the first half of 2013, the residential constructions decreased compared with the same period of previous year (-37.2% in number of dwellings and -35.5% in useful floor area). Non-residential constructions declined by 31.6% compared with the same period of 2012.

The number of dwellings decreased by 38.2% in the first quarter and by 36.2% in the second quarter with respect to first and second quarter 2012.
The useful floor area declined by 36.6% in the first quarter and by 34.3% in the second quarter compared with 2012.

Non-residential area decreased by 37.3% in the first quarter of 2013 and by 25.6% in the second quarter with respect to first and second quarter 2012.
