CHARLESTON, S.C., Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ISI Technology, the leader in innovative water heating technology, today announced the world's first 100 percent digital water heater. The Heatworks MODEL 1 features the QCA4004 low power Wi-Fi solution, a product of Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, and is enabled with AllJoynTM to discover, communicate and interact with other connected devices in the home. ISI Technology will be demonstrating its groundbreaking design at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (booth 8252 in the Central Hall) January 6-9.

The Heatworks MODEL 1 is the only water heating solution to provide infinite hot water without relying on conventional heating elements, opening a new realm of possibilities for water heating systems. The Heatworks MODEL 1 enables consumers to save up to 40 percent of energy costs devoted to heating water and 10 percent of water usage.

The QCA4004 platform is based on a hostless system-on-chip (SoC) with advanced power management features that enable customers to add full-featured Wi-Fi to virtually any product, like the Heatworks MODEL 1, and ensure the necessary efficiency. The platform also features an integrated thin client of AllJoyn, an open source software framework, which is designed to enable interoperability among diverse sets of products, applications and services.

Through AllJoyn, from the Allseen Alliance, a nonprofit consortium of which Qualcomm Atheros and ISI Technology are both members, it will be possible for cars, phones, thermostats, water heaters and almost any other device enabled with AllJoyn inside or outside of the home to be connected to one another.
