More than 60 members from 12 Arab States participated in the meeting which saw the participation of several ministers, ambassadors and judges. They included the Jordanian Minister of Justice, the Minister of Legal Efforts, the Minister of Public Works as well as the French Ambassador to Jordan David Bertolotti.

The meeting and its featured sessions were chaired by the President of the ICC Court Alexis Mourre, Vice-President of the Court Mohamed Abdel Wahab, ICC Court Deputy Secretary General Jose Feris and ICC Regional Director for MENA Sami Houerbi, who is also Secretary of the Arab Arbitration Group.

Discussions included coverage of pertinent issues affecting the region such as the prospects and challenges of using Arabic as a language for ICC arbitrations, recent developments in MENA region arbitrations and the involvement of Arab practitioners in ICC arbitrations.

The ICC Arab Arbitration Group was established in 2016 with the objective of creating a think tank for arbitration in the Arab World. The first meeting took place in Dubai where ICC's 5th MENA Conference on International Arbitration is set to take place in April.
