More than 400 students, parents, teachers, and community leaders will gather to celebrate the ability of all parents to choose the right school for their child.

The event, planned for Tuesday, January 24, at 4 p.m., will feature student performances and school choice testimonials in a positive, celebratory atmosphere. More than 400 people are expected to attend the event at the Currier Museum of Art.

The goal of the event is to spotlight educational options for New Hampshire students and tell student success stories. The celebration is timed to coincide with National School Choice Week (January 22-28, 2017), which will feature more than 21,000 events across the country.

“Our mission is to open the doors of opportunity for every child, regardless of zip code, to attend a life-changing, excellent school” said Kate Baker of Children’s Scholarship Fund New Hampshire. “With this event we hope to reach more parents with information about the Children’s Scholarship Fund and help them make the most of National School Choice Week.”

“Charter schools represent a tuition-free, innovative option for many parents who are looking to change their child’s school” said Matt Southerton of New Hampshire Alliance for Public Charter Schools. “This event is an opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate the wonderful students who attend New Hampshire charter schools every day.”

Children’s Scholarship Fund New Hampshire, New Hampshire Alliance for Public Charter Schools, New Hampshire Catholic Schools, Granite State Home Educators, and School Choice for NH are working together to plan the event.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through more than 21,000 independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
