WASHINGTON, D.C.- House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the House passed the World Bank Accountability Act (H.R. 3326), sponsored by Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY).

'Today, the people's House took action to increase accountability and stop corruption at the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA). We must make sure that our contributions to the IDA empower the individuals in the world's poorest nations, not reward corruption. This legislation specifically withholds a percentage of the IDA's funding until the Treasury Department can confirm that the Bank increases efforts to fight corruption and makes necessary reforms that include ensuring they aren't lending to corrupt regimes. I would like to thank Representative Andy Barr for his leadership on this legislation, and I'm grateful to see the House pass it on a bipartisan basis.'
