Health-care companies fell after more lackluster earnings from health-insurance industry suggested a boom for insurers is at an end.

Shares of Humana tumbled after the insurer slashed its fiscal 2023 earnings estimate because of higher-than-expected medical costs. Rivals such as CVS Health and UnitedHealth Group fell in sympathy, amid signs that more Americans are seeking discretionary medical care as concerns about the Covid-19 pandemic subside.

Novo Nordisk added to gains after the Danish drug giant raised U.S. list prices for Ozempic, one of several major pharmaceuticals whose prices were hiked in the national registry.
