High Alpha, a leading venture studio, announced today that Scott McCorkle has joined the company as an Executive in Residence. McCorkle is a globally-recognized marketing tech leader who most recently served as CEO of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and previously led product and engineering at ExactTarget and the Marketing Cloud as President of Technology and Strategy.

“Scott is an extraordinarily talented technology executive, and I am thrilled to have him join the High Alpha team as Executive in Residence, a newly-created advisory role,” said Scott Dorsey, Managing Partner at High Alpha. “Scott will be instrumental in helping us scale our existing portfolio companies as well as develop new breakout ideas and companies.”

McCorkle joined ExactTarget in 2005 and led the product division of the company up through a successful IPO and sale to Salesforce for $2.5B. McCorkle became the CEO of Salesforce Marketing Cloud in June of 2014. Prior to Salesforce and ExactTarget, McCorkle was President of Mezzia and was a Vice President at Software Artistry and IBM for over five years.

“I had the privilege of working with the High Alpha partners, Scott, Eric, Kristian and Mike, for many years at ExactTarget, and I am looking forward to working alongside them again to build world-class software companies,” said McCorkle. “After Salesforce, I was looking to return to the startup world, and working with High Alpha is a perfect fit. In the coming weeks, I am excited to announce additional plans to help create and shape the next generation of technology.”

As an executive in residence, McCorkle will mentor High Alpha portfolio leaders, lend his product and engineering expertise to High Alpha product development and help discover and develop the next High Alpha businesses.
