i. with a view to achieving the Union's binding target of at least 27% renewable energy in 2030 as referred to in Article 3 of [recast of Directive 2009/28/EC as proposed by COM(2016) 767], a contribution to this target in terms of the Member State's share of energy from renewable sources in gross final consumption of energy in 2030, with a linear trajectory for that contribution from 2021 onwards;

iii a. Member States may follow a non-linear reduction trajectory with two reference points pursuant to Annex Ia if this is economically or technically more efficient, and it does not affect achievement of the Union's binding target on renewable energy in 2030. Member States shall set out that non-linear reduction trajectory and the reasons for following it in the integrated national energy and climate plans pursuant to Articles 9 to 12;
Where a contribution to the Union's binding target on renewable energy in 2030 as referred to in Article 3 of [recast of Directive2009/28/EC as proposed by COM(2016) 767] cannot be limited in accordance with the determined trajectory, Member States shall explain the reasons for that deviation as well as the measures that would bring the Member States back on their trajectory in the subsequent integrated national energy and climate progress reports to be provided to the Commission pursuant to Article 18;
