Entergy Arkansas and the Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition Team Up for "You've Earned It" Super Saturday February 2

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - With more than $1.1 billion of federal Earned Income Tax Credits going unclaimed in Arkansas, Entergy Arkansas is helping qualified customers secure their share of these refunds. The company is partnering with the Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition to provide free tax-filing services. The EITC Coalition reminds customers "You've Earned It!"

Entergy employees and EITC volunteers will support Super Saturday February 2, 2013 in Little Rock by helping residents who earn $50,000 or less determine if they qualify to receive the federal tax benefits. According to the Internal Revenue Service, many qualified workers are failing to file for this tax credit. To qualify, workers must meet certain requirements and file a tax return, even if no tax is owed or a resident is not required to file. Qualifying residents could receive $3,000 or more in Earned Income Tax Credits. EITC tax-filing services are provided free of charge by Entergy and other community partners as part of their commitment to help eligible local residents receive the tax credits they have earned.

"Many of our neighbors struggle every day just to get by," said Jay Hartman, Entergy Arkansas, Inc.'s low income initiatives champion. "Arkansas' 18.7 percent poverty rate is America's sixth highest. Entergy Arkansas' commitment to help qualifying customers receive the income tax credits they've earned is helping move customers in need to self-sufficiency," said Hartman.

Super Saturday will be held February 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Arkansas Workforce Center, 5401 South University in Little Rock. (Please park and enter at the back of the building, accessed from Mabelvale Court.) Call (501) 682-7719 for more information.
