The National Weather Service has released new information regarding wintry precipitation that will occur early Monday and likely dissipate by Monday afternoon.

There is a forecasted 60% likelihood of freezing rain in our area with accumulation of .16' of ice in Cobb County, Sunday night through Monday. The most likely onset of a wintry mix will occur between 4AM and 6AM on Monday and is expected to end by 11AM to 1PM. Precipitation will turn into a rain-only event after 3PM on Monday.

Because we've experienced extremely cold temperatures over the past week, road temperatures are also extremely cold-this event will predominately affect transportation, particularly for commuters on Monday morning, and the affects will be felt with immediacy because of these prolonged below freezing temperatures.

Please continue to monitor the City website and social media for additional updates as they become available.

Please stay safe & warm this weekend!
