Through the Larimer County Conservation Corps (LCCC) Water and Energy Program, residents can receive a free home efficiency assessment this winter. Assessment applications are now being accepted.

With temperatures dropping and winter months looming, residential water and energy use is on the rise. Fort Collins Utilities and Loveland Water and Power have partnered with the Larimer County Conservation Corps to help residents reduce their water and energy usage while saving money on their utility bills. Supported by this collaboration, the Larimer County Conservation Corps provides free home efficiency assessments to customers of Fort Collins Utilities and Loveland Water and Power.

During a home efficiency assessment residents learn about their water and energy usage and different measures they can implement to make their homes more efficient. As part of the assessment residents may also receive free resource saving measures such as light bulbs, shower heads, faucet aerators, and a programmable thermostat. These product installs lead to an immediate reduction in water and energy use and can save residents money on their water and energy bills.

Since 2009, the Larimer County Conservation Corps' Water and Energy Program has trained young adults in the efficiency industry and increased accessibility to conservation measures and education for Fort Collins and Loveland residents. Assessments are available from now through April. Customers of either Fort Collins Utilities or Loveland Water and Power are eligible for a free assessment.
