Central Bank of Oman to Launch the 66th Issue of...

The Central Bank of Oman hereby announces the new issue of Government development bonds. The value of the new issue is fixed at OMR 100 million with a maturity period of 3 years and will carry a coupon rate of 4.75% per annum. This issue will be open for subscription from 10^th to 17^th January, 2021 while the auction will be held on Monday, 18^th January 2021. Moreover, the settlement date for the issue will be on Wednesday 20^thJanuary, 2021 and interest on the new bonds will be paid semiannually on 20^th July and 20^th January, every year until maturity date on 20^th January 2024.

Noteworthy, investors may apply for these Bonds throughthe competitive bidding process onlyand may submit bids through commerciallicensed banks operating in the Sultanate of Oman. Furthermore, investors with applications of OMR One millionand above may submit their bids directly to CBO, at their own discretion, after getting them endorsed from their banks. Prospectus and application forms can be obtained from any commerciallicensed bank operating in the Sultanate; or through Central Bank of Oman Official website (www.cbo.gov.om).

Notably, the Bonds are direct and unconditional obligations of the Government of Sultanate of Oman, represented by MOF. The Bonds can be used as collateral to obtain loans from any local commercial licensed bank and can also be traded at prevailing market rates through the Muscat Securities Market (MSM).

The details of the Bonds allotted will be recorded in the register maintained by Muscat Clearing & Depositary Company (MCD). Therefore, investors must provide the same bank account details registered with MCD in order to ensure the smooth processing of their bids and the receipt of the coupon payments and principal amount on their scheduled dates.

The 66^thGDB issue is offered to all investors, residents and non-residents (irrespective of their nationality).
