H.E Mr. Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, is on a three day visit to India from 14-17 January 2019. He visited Mumbai on 14-15 January and called on Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra. In New Delhi, Mr. Szijjarto called on Hon'ble Prime Minister on 15 January and is participating at the 5th edition of Raisina Dialogue 2020.

On 16 th January, Mr. Szijjarto and Dr S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister had held bilateral talks and they discussed gamut of bilateral relations including air connectivity, cooperation in higher education, enhancing trade and investment apart from exchanging views on matters related to UN, EU and situation in West Asia.

He also met Minister of MSME, Mr Nitin Gadkari and discussed strengthening cooperation in MSME sector. Mr. Szijjarto also met Mr Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Railways.

India and Hungary share close and friendly relations. Indian companies have made Significant investment in Hungary which is estimated to be about US$2 billion. The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary will further stregthen the existing friendly bilateral ties.
