Bank of Valletta : BOV Tennis Masters Tournament - Matthew Asciak makes it 5 in a row

Matthew Asciak is the winner of the BOV Tennis Masters Tournament to make it 5-in-a-row in this tournament.

The BOV Malta Men's Masters Tournament 2018 was the first tennis tournament for 2018 pitting the top 8 ranking players of 2017 by the Malta Tennis Federation and held at the Marsa Sports Club.

In his usual dominant style, Asciak beat Omar Sudzuka 6-1 6-2 to win the tournament without dropping a set and confirming himself as Malta's long-standing top tennis player.

Stefan Abela from Bank of Valletta's Marketing Department and David Farrugia Sacco, President of the Malta Tennis Federation presented the tournament trophy to the champion.

'As Bank of Valletta is synonymous with local sports, Matthew Asciak has become synonymous with this tournament, winning every edition in which he has participated since 2010' said Mr Abela while congratulating Asciak. 'The Bank's long-standing partnership with the Malta Tennis Federation bears witness to BOV's commitment towards the community in which it operates.'

'The BOV Masters is the last major tournament before the Malta's commitments in the Davis Cup in Montenegro' said Mr Farrugia Sacco while thanking Bank of Valletta for its continuous support. 'We are currently experiencing a large crop of young players growing in the game of tennis whose recent results, especially in the international scene bear witness to this.'
