COMPANIES CALL TO EXPAND EU-BRAZIL TRADE AND INVESTMENT

"Brazil is a strategic market for EU companies. By joining forces with CNI, BUSINESSEUROPE will explore new avenues to strengthen economic ties with Latin America's biggest economy and to create favourable business opportunities for companies", said Markus J. Beyrer, BUSINESSEUROPE Director General.
On 23 January 2013, BUSINESSEUROPE and its Brazilian counterpart, CNI - the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry, held the 6th EU-Brazil Business Summit in Brasilia. In their joint statement to Presidents Rousseff, Barroso and Van Rompuy, EU and Brazilian business leaders called for action to expand trade and investment opportunities for companies in agribusiness, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, energy and sustainable technologies. BUSINESSEUROPE and CNI also launched a joint working group to explore bilateral options for an EU-Brazil trade and investment arrangement.
