It refines crude oil feedstocks to produce jet fuel, diesel, naphtha, gas oils and fuel oil. The firm also produces, processes and markets conventional and technologically advanced polymerized asphalt, vacuum gas oil and other products at its refinery in Lake Charles, Louisiana utilizing low-cost, low-gravity and high sulfur crudes. It engages in oil and gas exploration and development in western Kazakhstan and the company also seeks other domestic and international oil and gas projects. The company's wholly owned subsidiaries include American International Refinery, Inc., Gulf Coast Petroleum Trading, Inc., St. Marks Refinery, American International Marine, Inc. and American International Petroleum Kazakhstan.
