Smoot, CPA, is Co-Founder, CFO & Senior Vice President at Meridian Management Group, Inc. Before co-founding MMG in 1995, he served as the Deputy Director of the Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority (MSBDFA).
Under his Assistant Directorship, MSBDFA provided nearly $37 million in financial assistance to socially or economically disadvantaged businesses in Maryland.
He also developed and created the joint venture between MSBDFA and Baltimore City, which provides small and minority contractors with surety bonds of up to $850,000 for city contracts.
Mr. Smoot is a Certified Public Accountant and previously served was a Senior Auditor with Jennings, McNair and Associates, P.A.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Morgan State University.
