Credit Suisse Asset Management (Japan) is the wholly-owned Tokyo-based Japanese asset management arm of Credit Suisse Asset Management Group (CSAM), a subsidiary of Zurich-based Credit Suisse Group (VX: CSGN). The firm was originally established in 1993 as Credit Suisse Investment Trust Management, but was integrated to CSAM when the firm was created in 1997. In 2006 CSAM fully integrated their banking business, which now operates under a single Credit Suisse brand. As a result the brand name Credit Suisse Asset management is no longer in use.

abrdn Japan Ltd. is the Japanese asset management subsidiary of abrdn Holdings Ltd., owned by abrdn Plc (LSE: ABDN) in Great Britain. Formerly known as Aberdeen Investment Management KK and Aberdeen Standard Investments (Japan) Ltd., the firm was founded in 1993 as Credit Suisse Investment Trust Management. The global fund management business of Crédit Suisse was acquired by Aberdeen Asset Management in 2009. Headquartered in Tokyo, abrdn Japan serves as the investment manager of abrdn Japan Investment Trust plc.
