Steve Peters

Steve Peters oversees the business development, corporate marketing, legal and administration organizations at Openwave.
In 1999, Peters joined the company as vice president and general counsel where he acted as chief advisor on SEC compliance, acquisitions, investments and partnerships as well as licensing, public policy and intellectual property issues.
He has served as board secretary since 2000.
Most recently, as Chief Administrative and Legal Officer Peters was responsible for leading the legal and finance organizations.
Peters brings more than 18 years of experience in the high-tech industry.
Before Openwave, he served as Vice President of Business Development at Baan Company N.V.
Prior to Baan, Peters spent nine years at Adobe Systems Inc. in a variety of roles including Associate General Counsel and later Director of Business Development.
As Director of Business Development at Adobe, Peters assisted in managing Adobe venture capital investments, strategic business planning and mergers and acquisitions for the Graphics Division.
Peters was also a principal and co-founder of two Entre Computer Franchises.
He also worked for the law firm of Ware and Freidenrich, currently Gray, Cary, Ware and Freidenrich LLP.
Peters holds a JD from Stanford University, attended Universite de Tours, Tours, France on a Rotary Fellowship and holds a BA degree, Summa Cum Laude in American studies from University of Southern Mississippi Honors College.
