Mr. Raymond, Rui Gu joined JAFCO Asia in 2007 and is currently Associate Director, based in Hong Kong office, responsible for investments in Southern and Eastern China, in particular the Yangtze and Pearl River Delta regions.
Prior to JAFCO Asia, he worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in Beijing, where he led consulting projects with a number of Chinese and multinational companies on strategic and operational issues.
During his seven years at McKinsey, Mr. Raymond, Rui Gu worked on a dozen of pre-IPO business plans, restructuring, M&A and negotiation support, business development, strategy, operations and organization building projects in a variety of industries.
He actively served leading financial institutions, teleco, e-commerce, hospitality, energy and manufacturing companies located in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
In 2002, Mr. Raymond, Rui Gu spent his internship with Hammer and Company in Boston, USA, and worked on management research and executive training projects.
In 2001, he was also part of the founding team members of Fortune Force Venture Partners, a VC company engaging in start-up incubation and advisory business in Beijing.
He was born in Hubei, China.
He received his B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, B.A.
in Economics and Masters degree in Enterprise Management from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
He also earned an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
