Prior to joining Miller Howard, Mr. Young was a portfolio manager for the Kenneth King Foundation, Director of Equities for the Public Employees Retirement Association of Colorado.
At Transamerica, he started and managed the Transamerica Capital Appreciation Fund, which received a five star ranking by MorningStar.
Subsequently, Mr. Young formed his own boutique management firm.
At the start of his career he was an analyst for Smith Barney, where he was named an Institutional Investor magazine All-Star Analyst in metals.
Mr. Young joined the portfolio management team in 2008 after working with the firm as an adjunct analyst.
He brings a great depth of knowledge, clarity and ability in managing money and adds depth to the investment team.
Mr. Young received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
He earned a Bachelor of Foreign Trade, Spanish language, from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and an MBA from Michigan State University.
