Mr. Mohamed Salama is a Head of Global Banking at Standard Chartered Bank.
He joined the firm in October 2016.
Prior to that, Mr. Salama held similar responsibilities with HSBC Bank Middle East, as the Head of Dubai and Deputy Head of Global Banking, UAE.
He served more than two decades in Corporate and Investment Banking, with leading international banks in the financial industry; covering central governments, sovereign wealth funds, financial sponsors, financial institutions, as well as large cap public, private and multinational companies, in various sectors.
He started his professional career in 1997 with HSBC Bank Egypt, joining the Executive Training Program, and subsequently progressing in various positions within the Corporate Banking division.
He then joined Barclays Bank Egypt, in 2004, heading the Government, Conglomerates and Large Industrial Corporates division.
In 2007, he moved to the United Arab Emirates to work for HSBC Bank Middle East, under the Global Banking and Markets business.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Commerce – English Section, Cairo University; and holds his Master of Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.
