Joseph serves as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for Cleveland Avenue (CA).
His responsibilities include advising on strategy and managing risk and legal issues for the organization and our portfolio companies.
Joseph also provides strategic council related to business development plans and consulting engagements for the company to help achieve business goals.
Most recently, Joseph served as CA’s Chief Strategist and Outside General Counsel for five years.
Prior to CA, Joseph led the business transactions practice at Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila.
Before joining RSHC, Joseph was managing partner of the Chicago office of an Am Law 100 law firm, where he also served as the chair of the firm’s airport concession practice.
Joseph is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law where he has served as an adjunct professor teaching a course in real estate secured transactions for the past ten years.
He received both his Bachelor’s Degree (with honors) and his Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago.
He is a member of Northwestern’s Wall of Fame and is a member of the University of Chicago’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
Joseph is married and the father of two children.
