Ms. Ellis brings a diverse business background to Fireman Capital Partners that includes entertainment, media and consumer products.
As a successful executive and an innovative marketer, her corporate career culminated in her role as executive vice president of Sony Music Label Group.
Most recently she served as president of Sony Urban Music, beginning in 2005.
Prior to that, Ms. Ellis served as general manager of Sony Urban Music.
In her role, Ms. Ellis worked closely with all aspects of the Sony Music Label Group's day-to-day management of strategic planning, marketing, promotion, A&R, and media, with a particular emphasis on broadening the growth of the company in the digital business.
The Sony Music Label Group consists of both Columbia Records and Epic Records.
She maintains involvement with many of the artists she has been involved with developing, such as: John Legend, Prince, Maxwell, Terrence Howard and Wyclef Jean.
Lisa Ellis holds the #3 rank in Billboard magazine's "2007 Most influential Women In Music." She was ranked in the same position in 2006.
She serves on the board of numerous nonprofit organizations including Yele Haiti and OneXOne.
