John Richard Smith

Mr. John R.
Smith is Senior Portfolio Manager at Detalus Advisors LLC.
He is responsible for strategy and overall portfolio management of institutional client investment portfolios at Detalus.
He also consults on a variety of asset/liability issues and participates in many clients’ ALCO meetings.
Prior to joining Detalus, Mr. Smith served as Investment Advisor at Betzold Investment Group, managing investment portfolios for financial institutions and other institutional clients while providing technical support, research, and analysis to the firm’s sales force.
From 1991 to 1999, he served as the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Firstbank of Illinois.
His responsibilities included managing the affiliate bank investment portfolios and ALCO processes.
Mr. Smith earned a B.S.
in accounting from University of Indiana – Bloomington.
