Dr. James H.
Scott
is Senior Managing Director at General Motors Investment Management Corp.
Prior to General Motors Investment role, Dr. Scott was President of Quantitative Managements Associates, a subsidiary of Prudential Financial.
There he was responsible for investment professionals managing $45 billion in enhanced equity index and value funds, balanced funds, equity index funds, multiasset-class portfolios and a long-short market neutral fund.
Prior to that, Dr. Scott was a Professor at Columbia Business School, teaching finance.
Dr. Scott also taught at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, Stanford University and has served as a research fellow at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
A cum laude graduate of Rice University, Dr. Scott holds an M.S.
and Ph.D.
in economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and serves on the Editorial Boards of the Financial Analysts Journal and the Journal of Investment Management, for which is also on the Advisory Board, as a Director of the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance and Chair of its Research Committee and as Research Director of the Heilbrunn Center for Graham and Dodd Investing at Columbia Business School.
