Before joining Northcape, Mr. Ayton worked at Lloyd George Management in their Hong Kong office for five years from 2007 to 2011.
During his time at Lloyd George Management, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager in which he researched and executed equity investment decisions in the Asian region, meeting with corporate management and undertaking regional travel as part of the investment process and was a member of the company’s Hong Kong executive committee.
Previously, he worked with Maple-Brown Abbott for fourteen years concentrating on the Australian equity market with portfolio management and research analysis responsibility, in addition to being appointed an Executive Director of the company.
His experience has also included tenures with DBSM Funds Management and Rothschild Australia Asset Management rounding out his investment management career that commenced in 1986.
He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University, and has completed post graduate qualifications from The Chartered Financial Institute in the US as well as the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
