David W. McCoy

Mr. McCoy is a vice president and Research Fellow at Gartner, where he is establishing a venture capital roundtable, an academic roundtable, a process for joint university/Gartner research efforts and a methodology for determining emerging business innovation (GRIP).
Mr. McCoy’s primary research focus includes Business Activity Monitoring (BAM), application integration, and emerging trends and technologies.
Mr. McCoy has been the Spotlight editor in chief of the monthly Gartner Spotlight on Application Integration.
In his previous position, Mr. McCoy led Gartner's research on document imaging, workflow and other electronic workplace topics.
Mr. McCoy is the author of the monthly column, "Renaissance Man" published in Business Integration Journal.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. McCoy worked at a "big six" consulting organization.
Mr. McCoy earned a bachelor's degree in information and computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a master's degree in computer information systems from Georgia State University.
He has completed post-graduate work toward a doctorate in business administration at Georgia State University.
