Nikko Asset Management Asia Ltd. (Nikko AM Asia) is the hedge fund management subsidiary of Nikko Asset Management International Ltd., ultimately owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, Inc. (TYO: 8309) in Japan. Formerly known as DBS Asset Management Ltd. (DBSAM), the firm was established in 1982. In 2010, they formed a strategic alliance with The Sumitomo Trust & Banking Co. and Nikko Asset Management Co., Ltd. to combine DBSAM and Nikko Asset Management, which was renamed Nikko Asset Management Asia Ltd.
