Eurex Zürich AG agreed to acquire 5% stake in Taiwan Futures Exchange Corp. from Yuanta Futures Co., Ltd and Yuanta Securities Korea Co., Ltd for $42.6 million.

Eurex Zürich AG agreed to acquire 5% stake in Taiwan Futures Exchange Corp. from Yuanta Futures Co., Ltd (GTSM:6023) and Yuanta Securities Korea Co., Ltd (KOSE:A003470) for $42.6 million on January 3, 2014. Eurex will acquire 12.92 million shares for $3.3 per share.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the Taiwanese authorities including Investment Commission and Ministry of Economic Affairs. Yuanta will remain a shareholder in Taiwan Futures Exchange after the planned sale. Ministry of Economic Affairs approved the sale on March 25, 2014.
