"This statement is made by MarketShare EMEA Partners Limited and MarketShare Partners LLC (together "MSP") following settlement of High Court proceedings commenced by Mindshare Media UK limited ("Mindshare") against Mr Steve Simpson, former employee of MarketShare EMEA Partners Limited.
The terms of settlement are confidential but this statement is made as we wish to apologise unreservedly and publicly to Mindshare and WPP for our conduct in the recruitment of Mr Simpson from Mindshare in summer 2011.
We acknowledge that in recruiting Mr Simpson for the role of Executive Vice President Marketshare EMEA, employees of ours encouraged him to act in breach of the duties he owed to Mindshare, with the result that he acted against Mindshare and WPP's interests on a number of occasions, whilst still employed by Mindshare. Mr Simpson is no longer employed by us, and we accept responsibility for the actions of our employees and that such actions were in violation of Mindshare's rights and legitimate business interests.
With this settlement and apology we look forward to putting this matter behind us."
