Rome, 29 December 2014 - The agreement for the final design of the Verona-Padua section of the High-Speed/High Capacity railway line has been signed, regarding the first sub-section of Verona-Vicenza. Salini Impregilo, part of the Iricav Due Consortium with a share of 27.27%, announces the signing of the agreement between the Consortium and RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana).

Signing of this agreement envisages delivery of the final design of the initial Verona-Vicenza sub-section by 15 May 2015, in order to allow for the commencement of works by December 2015.

The total value is approximately €4 billion. The Verona-Vicenza sub-section, which is the subject of the signed agreement, has already been funded in the amount of €1.5 billion through the Italian 2015 Stability Law, and a further €369 million was allocated by the 2014 law. The works will encompass approximately 50 km in an area within the provinces of Verona and Vicenza.

Salini Impregilo once again confirms its status as world leader in infrastructures : in fact, the Verona-Padua section, which is part of the major infrastructure programme  both at national and European level, is an integral part of the Turin-Milan-Venice east-west axis, and part of the Mediterranean Corridor of the Trans-European Transport Network.
