SAN JOSE, Calif. - January 6, 2014 - Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE: VCRA), the leading provider of integrated, intelligent communication solutions for mission-critical mobile environments, has named Rhonda Collins, MSN, RN, as chief nursing officer, effective today. As CNO, Ms. Collins is responsible for working with nursing leadership groups globally to increase their understanding of Vocera solutions, share clinical best practices and to bring their specific requirements to Vocera's product and solutions teams. Vocera also announced the promotion of Steve Jackson to chief strategy officer. In his new role, Mr. Jackson will oversee Vocera's corporate strategy, and M&A activities as well as drive thought leadership through the company's Experience Innovation Network.

In addition to working with nursing leadership groups, Ms. Collins will partner with Vocera's broad team of clinical experts, including chief medical officer, M. Bridget Duffy, MD, to accelerate our growth by continuing the legacy of delivering high quality customer service and product solutions which enabled the company to earn the 2013 Best of KLAS award for Healthcare Communications.

Prior to joining Vocera, Ms. Collins was vice president and business manager for Fresenius Kabi, USA, responsible for the launch of the company's Intravenous Infusion Pump in the U.S. and led the American Nurse Project, elevating the voice of nurses across the country. Through her previous experience at Masimo Corporation as vice president of nursing and Baylor University Medical Center as vice president, woman and children's services, Ms. Collins has deep experience maximizing market share and profitability while building on best clinical and business practices. She holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Texas Tech University; a Master's in Science Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a Registered Nurse.

Prior to that, Mr. Jackson was a member of Vocera's business development team from 2007 to 2011, where he was responsible for strategic planning, partnerships and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Vocera, Mr. Jackson was at The Advisory Board Company, Neoforma and Stockamp & Associates. Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.
