Triveni Turbine Limited reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended Dec. 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company's net sales were INR 1,407.5 million compared to INR 1,730.4 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income and finance costs was INR 280.7 million against INR 447.3 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 301.4 million compared to INR 453.9 million a year ago. Profit after tax was INR 207.4 million or INR 0.63 per basic and diluted share compared to INR 305.2 million or INR 0.92 per basic and diluted share a year ago. EBITDA was INR 319 million against INR 490 million a year ago. PBIT was INR 287 million against INR 459 million a year ago.
For the nine months, the company's net sales were INR 3,740.3 million compared to INR 4,640.5 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income and finance costs was INR 669.5 million against INR 1,119.6 million a year ago. Profit after tax was INR 491.8 million or INR 1.43 per basic and diluted share compared to INR 760.4 million or INR 2.30 per basic and diluted share a year ago. EBITDA was INR 828 million against INR 1,245 million a year ago. PBIT was INR 732 million against INR 1,153 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 722.2 million against INR 1,126.9 million a year ago.

The Company is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing and supplying power generating equipment and solutions and has manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Approximately 6,000 steam turbines supplied by the Company are installed across 20 industries in over 80 countries. The Company designs, develops and delivers advanced technology steam turbine generators (STGs) up to 100 megawatts electric (Mwe) range for power generation and combined heat & power generation applications across a broad spectrum of industries. It offers industrial steam turbines for combined heat & power (CHP) and power generation, API turbines for drives and power generation, and SMART turbines for pressure reducer desuperheater (PRDS). It caters to various industries including geothermal power plants, independent power plants, industrial captive power plants, oil & gas plants, and utility power plants.
