First Edition to Debut April 3

NEW YORK, January 13, 2015 - The New York Times today announced that it will launch a monthly print section devoted to men's fashion and lifestyle coverage. The first edition will run on Friday, April 3 and publish the first Friday of every month.

Adding to a robust fashion and style report in The Times with Thursday Styles, Sunday Styles and T Magazine, the new section will deepen the coverage of men's fashion by exploring the latest trends, reviews of men's collections as well as the business of men's fashion.

Overseen by Styles editor Stuart Emmrich, the section will have a dedicated men's fashion editor and a roster of fashion writers including Guy Trebay, Matthew Schneier and John Koblin, among others.

This is the first new print section to launch in The Times since the debut of Thursday Styles in April 2005. The section will run 12-14 pages.

Emmrich said: "The men's fashion industry has grown enormously and our readers, of whom more than 50% are men, have a huge appetite for fashion coverage. We are excited to offer more depth and breadth in our coverage."

The section will provide a rich advertising environment for brands that want to reach men's fashion readers.

Brendan Monaghan, vice president, luxury advertising, The New York Times, added: "With the launch of this new section, advertisers can now run creative adjacent to the most superior men's style content that is only available in The New York Times. Friday is our second highest circulation day of the week and the perfect day for advertisers to reach one of the most sophisticated audiences on earth, just as they are gearing up for the weekend."
