Panel to Examine the Transition Away From Unlimited Data Plans

MORRISVILLE, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 11/10/11 -- Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), the mobile broadband solutions company, will participate in two discussions at the third annual Broadband Traffic Management conference from November 15 - 17, 2011 in London.

Houck Reed, vice president, broadband network solutions, product management and operations will speak as a panelist at the "How Can Operators Manage the Transition Away From Unlimited Data Plans While Keeping Customers Happy? Communicating the Value of Improved QoS" session. The panel will be on November 15 at 2:20 p.m.Mr. Reed and other panelists will discuss the risks and opportunities of shifting away from unlimited mobile data plans and the relationship between customers' perception of broadband value and data pricing.

Principal Engineer Steve Donovan will speak at the standalone session "Diameter Traffic in Next-Generation Core Networks: How Operators Can Manage for Growth in Policy, Charging and Mobility Management Functions." Mr. Donovan will touch several topics including network monitoring and intelligence and connection and transaction scalability. This session on Diameter will be held at 3:10 p.m. on November 16.

Mr. Reed leads Tekelec's team focused on delivering broadband data solutions, including session management, policy and subscriber data management. He joined Tekelec in 2007 from Symantec, and has also worked at UTStarcom, Alcatel-Lucent, and Hyperion Software. Mr. Donovan has more than 40 patents and over 25 years of experience working with the architecture, design and implementation of complex, carrier-grade systems.
