Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. and IAMGOLD Corporation have confirmed significant gold mineralization through an exploration program in the Gosselin and Young-Shannon zone, located approximately 1.5 kilometers northeast of the Cote Gold Project in Ontario, Canada. Highlights of the drilling results are as follows. SMM and IMG confirmed high- grade quartz veins, including visible gold, with drill hole GOS20-52.

Drill hole GOS20-47: 417.3 meters, grading 0.95g/t Au; Drill hole GOS20-49: 353.0 meters, grading 1.04g/t Au; Drill hole GOS20-52: 86.0 meters, grading 5.57g/t Au (includes: 30.4 meters 14.7g/t Au). The company's are planning to have an additional drilling campaign totaling approximately 14,500 meters to delineate the mineralized zone and to support maiden resource estimation, which is expected to be completed in 2021. The company anticipates these results will increase the value of the Cote Gold project by utilizing facilities currently under construction.

SMM joined the exploration project (claim area approx. 521km2) in 2017 as a part of the Cote Gold Project. The construction work of the Cote Gold Project is progressing on schedule to be completed in 2023.

SMM has set new participation in mining operations, through the acquisition of excellent interests related to the development of gold mines, as part of the target of its long-term vision. Promotion of the Cote Gold Project is consistent with the strategy laid out in this long-term vision. Through the strong partnership with IMG, SMM will move forward towards the start of production of the Cote Gold Project and the exploration project in the area.
